The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether three times weekly dosing with oral rapamycin can reverse the heart muscle changes associated with subvalvular aortic stenosis (SAS) in dogs. NC State CVM study tests oral rapamycin to reverse heart changes in dogs with severe SAS. Dogs are screened (exams, tests, ECG, X-rays, echocardiograms) and assigned to low- or high-dose rapamycin or placebo, with follow-ups at 3 and 6 months.
